Welcome to the annual Governor’s Business Plan Contest (BPC). The mission of the BPC is to encourage entrepreneurs in the creation, start-up and early-growth stages of high-tech businesses in Wisconsin. The BPC is designed to augment and work in conjunction with other regional and statewide efforts to enhance Wisconsin’s high-tech economy. By participating in the contest, you can have a direct and positive effect on those efforts.
You can get involved with the BPC by becoming a contestant, a judge or a mentor. Follow the links below to learn more about each or to create an account.
Competing in the BPC will help you gain the basic skills necessary to create a business plan and lead to valuable public and media exposure for the best plans submitted. By competing in the BPC, you’ll also gain access to angel investors, venture capitalists, government advisors and potential mentors through formal and informal BPC channels.
Judging the competition is a great opportunity to help shape entrepreneurial high-growth companies throughout Wisconsin. BPC judges include investors, academics, experienced entrepreneurs, and other professionals interested in the development of high-growth companies that will define Wisconsin’s future.
Mentoring a team during the Governor’s Business Plan Contest is a great opportunity to interact with innovative leaders working through the challenging process of building a new business. During Phases 2 and 3 of the competition, mentors volunteer time to the participating entrepreneur, assisting them in all aspects of business definition, refinement and implementation planning.
